Columbia was the civil engineering and landscape architecture consultant in land planning, design and permitting of Commerce Center, an 8 acre office development. This project required coordination with not only the client and the owner but also with Peachtree City Development Corporation and the City of Peachtree City.  Peachtree City Development Corporation has architectural and site standards for all developments within their master development.  Columbia was also responsible for coordinating the acquisition of surveys, geotechnical engineering and site lighting. To meet stormwater quality requirements, 2 bio-retention swales were designed and landscaped with native plants. These bio-swales capture and filter rainwater from the parking lots and hold it for a limited time to promote on-site infiltration and capture of pollutants. Pervious pavement was effectively used for the required emergency access from the adjacent building.
